He is pleasant to work with and very helpful making thoughtful recommendations. We are comfortable that you too will be satisfied using Mark for your survey. He is a great combination of an inspector with sound knowledge of construction, honest as they come, with a pleasant, helpful attitude. He was a delight to work with. Mark was absolutely wonderful to work with. He is hilarious and really knows his stuff. He made it easy for my husband and I to understand exactly what kind of work our new house would need and what we should expect. He got back to us very quickly about scheduling an inspection time and is very reasonably priced. I highly recommend All Property Evaluations and we will definitely use them again.

Mark Masengale is a very talented inspector. After our experience of having him inspect a property in Ford's Colony that we were very interested in purchasing I feel confident in recommending him. Mark's evaluation saved us from making a very serious, costly mistake. I know a little about caring for a home after years of upkeep on 3 different homes we have owned in the northern VA area. Mr. Masengale pointed out things that were not in code. That needed to be replacing or repaired. For instance, a porch that had been converted into a sun room he discover had major structural problems. Mark crawled into the space beneath the porch flooring and took pictures of supports that were not only not to code but were a clear safety hazard the way they had been finished. The crawl space beneath the house had been enclosed only 2 years prior. He found the dehumidifier was not working. Some mold forming. Incomplete sealing of the lining.to the foundation. (Providing more pictures to help us understand what he saw.) There were a great number of areas with rotten wood. Not something we could even detect. But Mark pointed it out to us. The new exterior paint camouflaged the condition of the wood beneath making the trim look very nice from where we stood.
He works at a good even pace moving first on the exterior and then moving indoors. We held our questions for him until the end of his survey so he wouldn't miss anything by us drawing his attention away from the details. There were more things he pointed out in this well built, all brick home of 3,000 sq ft. Things that over time needed to be taken care of which would have mounted up financially on top of the price of the home. We decided that these items were indications that there were definite problems with the property so we cancelled the contract.
